2004-06-21 Intel Prescott LGA775 Prescott using the LGA775 socket is launched. 64-bits (EM64T, CT Technology) for the desktop is slated for 05-Q2. EM64T chips will be called 'F' after the clock speed.
2004-06-21 Intel Alderwood 925X High-end chipset, succeeding Canterwood for Prescott and Tejas, while Grantsdale handles the "mid-end". ECC support was present, but has been removed from roadmaps. Priced at $50.

2004-06-21 Intel Azalia Next generation audio technology, succeding AC97 and I2S. Supports 24 bit 192 kHz audio and 2 to 15 audio streams. Now renamed to "Intel High Definition Audio".
2004-06-21 Intel ICH6 South bridge including four PCI Express x1 ports, and eight USB 2.0 ports. The ICH6-R (+$3) will support four S-ATA ports, while the normal ICH6 only includes two. There will also be ICH6-W (+$5) and -RW (+$7) versions with wireless capabilities and a ICH6-M for Mobile systems. Uses the new DMI (Direct Media Interface) to connect to the North Bridges.
