2004-06-01 ATI Radeon X300 Mainstream graphics chip made in a 110 nm process. Very similar to RV380 except for lower clock speeds. Includes PCI Express support. The AGP version is called RV351, while X300 was formerly known as RV370. A version supporting Hyper Memory (sharing of primary RAM over PCIe, similar to nVidia's TurboCache) is planned for early 2005.
2004-09-21 ATI Radeon X700 Successor to RV380 for "mid-end" graphics solutions. Will be launched both in a AGP and a PCI-Express verision. Previously known as RV410.
2005-06-22 nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX New Nvidia graphics chip, formerly known as G70.Full 128 bit FP support through the whole rendering engine. 64 bit texture filtering and blending. Draws 100-110 W from the power supply.
A dual-slot version with faster core is sometime referrred to as G71.
Previously known as NV47 according to some sources.2005-Q2 Nvidia NV48 DX9.0c graphics chip. Later said to be canceled as performance was only 20 MHz faster than NV45. Even later said to be ok again but moved from 04-Q4 to 05-Q2...
